Voting Options

This setting will force the user to login before submitting a vote. If toggled to 'No', anonymous voting will be allowed.

This setting will force the user to sign in to submit an entry into a contest. If toggled to 'No', anonymous submissions will be allowed.

This allows a user to cancel their vote, but it only works when ip, cookie, or user account tracking is enabled.

This setting determines how votes are tracked in terms of personally identifiable information when the user is not logged in. You can choose from IP, cookies, email verification, IP + email verification, or user account tracking.

This setting allows you to control the users voting frequency limits by day, category, hour, or allow unlimited voting. Think of this in terms of 'X votes per Y time period'.

chevron-rightUser Can Vote Forhashtag

This setting determines how the votes available may be cast. Single means that votes can be cast only for a single contestant. Multiple Exclusive means that votes can not be repetitively cast for a single contestant, rather you must spread your votes out if you have multiple available. Multiple Split means that if you have multiple votes you may choose to cast them all on one contestant, or across several like in multiple exclusive.

The below figure is a table that represents the different possible combinations of settings which determine the structure of how contests work in production. Understand there are multiple ways to achieve the same results. This table is to demonstrate how these concepts could work in practice and therefore includes configurations that may be rare.

Per Calendar Day

Allows the voter to cast 1 vote per calendar day for a single contestant. Voter may vote for the same or a different contestant the next calendar day.

Per Calendar Day

Allows the voter to cast up to 2 votes at the same time per calendar day for a single contestant. Voter may vote for the same or a different contestant 2 times the next calendar day.

Per X Hours

Allows the voter to cast 1 vote per 'X' hours for a single contestant. Once the period of 'X' hours passes, the voter may cast another vote for any contestant, including the same one as before.

Per X Hours

Allows the voter to cast up to 2 votes at the same time per 'X' hours for a single contestant. Once the period of 'X' hours resets, the voter may cast another 2 votes for any contestant, including the same one as before.

Per Category

Allows the voter to cast 1 vote per category for a single contestant. Once the vote is cast, the voter cannot vote again in this category. This is a fairly straight forward standard type contest.

Per Category

Allows the voter to cast up to 2 votes at the same time per category for a single contestant. Once both votes are cast, the voter cannot vote again in this category. This is a fairly straight forward standard type contest, except that we are voting in multiples of whatever the voting frequency is at.

No Limit

Allows unlimited voting for a single contestant. You can literally keep clicking vote.

Allows unlimited voting for a single contestant, by twos. You can literally keep clicking vote.

Voter Details

Contest Options

This setting will allow control over the number of characters shown on the contestant grid view.

This setting will allow you to auto approve the contestants when they make a submission. If 'No' is selected, they will go to a pending state where the admin will have to approve the post before it goes public. Only select 'Yes' if you are not worried about content which may be inappropriate being posted live.

This allows you to set the description displayed for contests to be started.
