# Settings Menu

#### Navigation: Contest->Settings

#### Description:

The settings on this menu are the global settings that are applied by default to every single contest. Think of these settings as your 'boiler plate'. Layout and color can be overridden, however everything else under the settings menu will be applied to every contest always. See Contest Specific settings in the Index.

| Pointer Number | Name                   | Description                                                                                                                                                              |
| -------------- | ---------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| 1              | Common Settings        | In this sub menu you can edit image settings, contestant page settings, content settings, popup settings, permalink settings, login settings and reCaptcha settings.     |
| 2              | Contest Settings       | In this sub menu you can edit voting options, voter details, and contest options.                                                                                        |
| 3              | Global Layout Settings | In this sub menu you can edit the global layout settings for contests. They will apply by default to every contest, except when overridden by contest specific settings. |
| 4              | Global Color Settings  | In this sub menu you can edit the global color settings for contests. They will apply by default to every contest, except when overridden by contest specific settings.  |
| 5              | Share Settings         | In this sub menu you can alter the social sharing settings.                                                                                                              |
| 6              | Plugin Settings        | In this sub menu you can mange script settings, uploads, and deactivation settings.                                                                                      |
| 7              | Excerpt Settings       | In this sub menu you can alter excerpt/read-more settings.                                                                                                               |
| 8              | Pagination Settings    | Here you can change how the pagination works.                                                                                                                            |
| 9              | Email Notifications    | In this sub menu you can manage contestant and admin email notifications, and usage variables.                                                                           |
| 10             | Buy Votes              | In this sub menu you will find the merchant settings and the buy votes settings.                                                                                         |
| 11             | Paid Entry Settings    | In this sub menu the payment settings for your merchants can be adjusted.                                                                                                |
